After months of practice and anticipation (and another week due to a burst water main) students at Baldwin High School took part in Sportsnite on March 14. The Blue Team won the contest following a week’s worth of events and activities leading up to the main event that took place over the last two weeks.
The two teams, based on Baldwin’s school colors, each had their own themes — “Gold’s Ghostbusters” and “Arctic Blues.” The students on both teams put on quite the show last weekend with choreographed dances and routines.
Ethel T. Kloberg created Sportsnite in 1933 when girls were not allowed to participate in inter-school athletics. It’s now Baldwin’s longest running tradition.
