An eventful week at Tutor Time

Children at Tutor Time of Baldwin had a blast this month celebrating the Week of the Young Child (WOYC) with a variety of daily child-centered learning activities earlier this month.

On Music Monday, kids enjoyed a sing-along while dancing to acoustic music. On Taco Tuesday, they made their own healthy tacos for lunch. On Work Together Wednesday children used teamwork skills to build towers made of natural materials like branches and cardboard. For Artsy Thursday students expressed their creative sides with paint and clay. Finally, on Family Friday, families were invited to share a story with their child’s class.

“Each year we emphasize this special week as an opportunity to celebrate and recognize our youngest learners,” said Cassandra Burkhardt, the center director. “Programs like Tutor Time emphasize that early childhood education is instrumental in a child’s growth and development. We aim to lay a strong literacy foundation for each child to continue to build upon. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work with our youngest learners as their social, cognitive and linguistic skills take flight.”
