Arrest made for derogatory graffiti

A man was arrested last week in connection with writing derogatory ramblings on buildings in Freeport, Baldwin and Roosevelt, Nassau County police said.

According to detectives, Serge Delaleu, 44, (no address) used a red marker to write derogatory ramblings on the front doors of B’nai Israel Temple located at 91 North Bayview Ave., Freeport, on April 8 at 9:50 a.m. Additionally, Delaleu was found to have written similar ramblings and swastikas, in the month of April, in Baldwin and Roosevelt at several random locations.

Delaleu was arrested on April 17 on Charles Street in Roosevelt. He was being charged with five counts of third-degree criminal mischief, five counts of making graffiti, and two counts of first-degree aggravated harassment. He was arraigned on April 18 in First District Court, Hempstead.
