BFE holds beach bash

The Baldwin Foundation for Education hosted its annual Alumni Beach Party on Sept. 6 at the Lido Beach Town Park where Baldwin High School graduates reconnected and reminisced.

The event has been held the Saturday after Labor Day for more than 20 years and attracts alumni from a variety of graduating classes. According to BFE President Sharon Knoernschild, many classes plan their high school reunions around the beach party and include it in their weekend events. Some graduating classes get together to celebrate milestone birthdays, like last year when the class of 1971 celebrated their 60th birthdays, and the class of 1963 celebrated their 50th year since graduating from high school.

BFE board members also conducted tours of BHS for alumni looking to take a trip down memory lane.

The BFE is an organization of Baldwin alumni, past faculty members and friends of the community who help support the school district. Inquiries and/or donations can be made to the BFE at P.O. Box 350, Baldwin, NY 11510-0350.
