Baldwin kids take it to the hardwood

The basketball season is in full swing for kids in the Baldwin Police Activity League.

The league features nearly 40 teams in variety of age-based divisions, ranging from second through 12th grade. The season kicked off in November for the younger players and will end in February for boys and girls in the older division.

Everton Marcus, who has served as Baldwin PAL president for the last three years, said basketball is one of his organization’s most popular sports. There is currently a waiting list of kids who’d like to play, he said.

“[The season’s] been going great,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of people come down to ask about playing.”

There’s still a lot more basketball for most of the divisions this season. For more information, go to www.baldwinpal.org.
