Holdup at service station

First Squad detectives are investigating an armed robbery at a Baldwin gas station on Sept. 1.

Police said a man armed with a silver handgun entered the OK Petroleum service station, 1270 Grand Ave., at 8:34 p.m., approached the attendant and demanded money. The attendant, 64, handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber left on foot, heading west on Westminster Road, police said. Then he got into a dark-colored sport utility vehicle and continued westbound on Westminster.

No one was injured during the theft.

Police described the suspect as wearing blue jeans, a gray sweatshirt and Yankees baseball cap.
