A device designed to remove snow and ice from a car was among those shown last week at the Nassau Inventors and Entrepreneurs Club at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola.

Richard Pierre of Baldwin showed off his invention, called “The Hurricane,” which is awaiting a patent.

The Hurricane is designed to remove snow and ice sprinkles from a car and unfreeze car-door handles. The device is comprised of a DC-electric motor housed in a durable plastic case that can provide hot or cold air, an extended 3-foot hard plastic tube and a molded, heated scrapper with an attached brush.

The club, sponsored by the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency, provides new and seasoned entrepreneurs networking and brainstorming opportunities. The club aims to help inventors turn ideas into action, while affording its members the ability to tap into critical resources.
