It was a big night for the Baldwin Fire Department as four chiefs were sworn in during the department’s 119th annual installation on April 5 at the Coral House.

While Craig Yanantuono took the helm as head chief, so too did three deputy chiefs. Karen Bendel is the new first deputy chief, Michael Jazylo steps into the role of second deputy chief and Frank Cesare was sworn in as third deputy chief.

Robert Brancato, the department’s chief in 2013, was recognized for his service and thanked his colleagues. “It was truly an honor and a privilege, and your support will not soon be forgotten,” he said. “I only hope I made you as proud of me as I was of the job all of you did on a daily basis.”

The new chief and his deputy chiefs have been serving in their current roles since January and will remain in them through the end of the year.
