Baldwin voting sites have changed

Posted

When many Baldwin residents turn out to vote on Nov. 6, they’ll be heading to a new voting site. The Shubert School, closed last June, was long a polling place for many residents, who may now be wondering where to go. Adding to the confusion, some area voters received contradictory information on their voter information cards. According to a letter from Jacqueline Bell, president of the Baldwin Oaks Civic Association, “Some voters were informed their site changed, some still listed Schubert School. (Which closed in June).” Bell went on to say that after a number of concerned voters contacted the Board of Elections a series of voter information cards were issued which may have added to the confusion. A set of blue cards and yellow cards contained confusing information about new and temporary polling places. These cards were distributed to residents in the areas of Coes Neck Park, the Grand Avenue School and Baldwin Senior High School. Above is a chart, provided by the Board of Elections, detailing voting sites for the entirety of Baldwin. If you still have questions about where to vote, you can call the board directly at (516) 571-2411.
