Students give it their all at Blue & Gold

For the 27th time, Baldwin’s eighth graders squared off against each other in Baldwin Middle School’s annual Blue & Gold competition on March 27.

Roughly 150 students participated in this year’s event and were split into two teams that then competed in a variety of challenges, including relay races, tug-of-war and an obstacle course.

BMS social studies teacher Edward Cricchio established the event in 1989 and remains an advisor along with fellow social studies teacher Ann Marie Lynam. Cricchio said Blue and Gold gets bigger and better each year and it’s a night that the entire school community looks forward to.

“To me, it’s one of the best nights of the year,” he said. “For those three hours there’s no groups or cliques, they’re working as a team.”

The Blue Team came away with the overall victory this year, but each team had their share of fun.
