The Versatile James  Cagney

The cinema’s quintessential tough guy, James Cagney was also an accomplished hoofer and easily played light comedy. Known for his energetic performances, distinctive vocal style, and deadpan comic timing, he won acclaim and major awards for a wide variety of performances including The Public Enemy and Angels with Dirty Faces. Join Marc Courtade in this tribute to America’s own Yankee Doodle Dandy. At the Oceanside Library July 6 at 2 p.m.

Tribute to the ‘Boss’

Tramps Like Us, the acclaimed tribute band, visits Eisenhower Park, on Friday, at 8 p.m., for an evening of devoted to Bruce Springsteen. Rock the night away with the band’s rendition of the classic Springsteen sound, delivered with the Boss’s passion and conviction. And, of course, it’s free! Info: (516) 572-0355.

Independence Day salute

Step back in time and celebrate a rousing Fourth of July as it would have been commemorated in 1865 at the end of the Civil War at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
