Kaminsky seeking to drill down on problems

In an effort to measure customer satisfaction, State Sen. Todd Kaminsky, a Democrat from Long Beach, launched a survey asking commuters for their opinions on Long Island Rail Road service quality and dependability.

Saying that he has heard from many LIRR passengers in the past year recounting what he called “dismal rider experiences,” Kaminsky is aiming to focus on specific problems and understand how common they are.

The survey will be open until Sept. 18. The train stations across the 9th Senate District include: Baldwin, Cedarhurst, Gibson, Hewlett, Inwood, Island Park, Lawrence, Long Beach, Malverne, Oceanside, Rockville Centre, Valley Stream, West Hempstead and Woodmere.

There have been more than 350 responses as of Sept. 7, Kaminsjy's office said.
