Posted

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District will be back in session on Wednesday, Nov. 7, according to Superintendent Dr. Henry Kiernan.

Students will be back on their regular schedule, and transportation will be provided. Lunch will be offered as well.

Kennedy High School in Bellmore and Merrick Avenue Middle School in Merrick will operate by generator. There will be electricity and heat in all Central District school buildings. The high schools will operate as closed campuses. Normally, upperclassmen are permitted off campus for lunch.

The district is setting up a Hurricane Sandy Facebook page to answer parents' storm-related questions.

Over the weekend the district will hold a Hurricane Sandy drive to assist local residents who were displaced by the storm.
