Bellmore businesswoman honored at chambers' breakfast

Martha Verdi, left, part owner and full-time tax assistant at Income Tax Plus in North Bellmore, was recently named Bellmore’s Small Businesswoman of the Year during the Nassau County Council of Chambers of Commerce 28th annual legislative breakfast last Friday. Verdi has worked on numerous committees for the Bellmore Chamber of Commerce and is coordinator for the annual Strawberry Festival in June, which is run by the Bellmore Kiwanis and Lions clubs and serves as a fundraiser for local charities. She has also worked for many years as a volunteer at the Cancer Society Thrift Store program. The breakfast was held at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
