Mr. Irwin Piskin, resident of Bellmore since 1969, father of two sons, Wayne and Raymond, and husband to Lorraine, started his career as a salesman at a very young age in 1957 and worked his magic to become a prestigious owner of his own company in 1974. He provided a solution for libraries who were in need of supplying their patrons with access to a new technology, the public copy machine, and, in particular, the “vend” copy machine.
Piskin was more than a "businessman". He was a friend to the library world in Long Island and in the tri-state area. His unique talent was his ability to be of service on a personal level to benefit the patrons and staff of the library in areas that were very important to every part of their daily needs. Nothing was considered a burden or out of reach. He would solve their issues or concerns with kindness and caring. He made the library world and every person he came in contact with feel that special warmth that is so rare in today’s rushed and hurried life.
He died at the age of 52.
