What is Amy Schumer up to this week?

Did you know that “Rockstar” comedienne Amy Schumer is a South Side High School graduate and also attended Hebrew School at Central Synagogue? Because of her ties to the neighborhood, we thought we’d give occasional updates on what she’s up to on any given week.

According to multiple reports, Schumer announced last week that she will no longer be participating in the planned Barbie movie. After she decided to take on the role of the famous Mattel doll in the animated film in December, Schumer was ridiculed by body-shaming trolls on her social media accounts.

Schumer cited her busy schedule as the reason why she could no longer commit to the project, which still did not have a director.

“Sadly, I’m no longer able to commit to Barbie due to scheduling conflicts,” she said in a statement to Variety. “The film has so much promise, and Sony and Mattel have been great partners. I’m bummed, but look forward to seeing Barbie on the big screen.”

Schumer landed a role in Rebecca Miller’s “She Came to Me,” which is in the pre-production stage, and is about to start a promotional tour for her new film, “Snatched”, in which she stars opposite Goldie Hawn. The movie will be released in May.
