Kennedy classes battle it out

Posted

Hundreds of students packed a decorated Kennedy High School gym on Feb. 26, cheering on their peers during an evening of fun and games at Class Night.

Kennedy’s student government organized the annual event at the school, which houses students from south Bellmore and south Merrick. Class Night also had a charitable component, as students were challenged to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the competition and programs in their English classes.

At Class Night, judges awarded points to each of the four teams according to their performances in the evening’s contests, as well as for the school spirit that they demonstrated.

In addition to traditional events like tug of war, crab soccer, limbo, dance and dodgeball, students took part in a new event –– human foosball. The Super Sophomores team won this year’s Class Night in what student government leaders described on Facebook as an upset victory.
