Local ‘real estate dynamo’ dies at 89

A beloved East Meadow woman who family and friends described as a “career real estate dynamo” died suddenly on Sept. 14. She was 89. 

JeanneMarie Eisenhardt was born to Joe and Sally Cannon in Scranton, Pa. A beloved mother and more, she has several surviving family members, including her children, Paul, Roger, David, Jeannemarie and Walter Jr. (of Bellmore); her grandchildren, Harrison, Roger Jr., Christopher, Kerri, Paul , Sarah , Michael, Diana , Lily and Harris.; and her great grand children, Aiden, Logan, Keliegh and Jimmy.

Before moving to Long Island, Eisenhardt lived in Harlem and Richmond Hill. She met her loving late husband, Walter Eisenhardt Sr., in the Queens neighborhood; she and her mother were customers at Walter’s family’s store on Liberty Avenue, Eisenhardt's Prime Meats.  

Family members said Eisenhardt was an unselfish matriarch, acting as a caretaker for her mother when she fell ill. In addition to her life at home, Eisenhardt was a successful local real estate agent and a dedicated member of the Rockville Centre Mercy League.

Eisenhardt will be waked on Friday, Sept. 18 at Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Home (located at 603 Wantagh Ave.) from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral will service take place on Saturday, Sept. 19 at St. Barnabas Roman Catholic Church in Bellmore at 10 a.m.
