The 7-Eleven convenience store on Sunrise Highway in Merrick was robbed at knifepoint for the second time in just over a week, according to Nassau County Police.

At 1:46 a.m. on Monday, police said, a male suspect wearing all black clothing and sunglasses entered the store armed with a knife and demanded money from the clerk, who complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect, described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and approximately 175 pounds, made off westbound on Sunrise Highway toward the Babylon Turnpike. No injuries were reported.

The robbery followed a similar one at the same location on Feb. 5, in which a male subject “menaced” two store clerks with a knife and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police ask that anyone with information about either crime contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
