Oceanside Girl Scout goes for her Gold Award

Sarah Marie Romanelli of Oceanside arranged a community talent event called “Music Inspires,” a compilation of singing, dancing and readings presented by a group of 23 youth, tweens and teens from the community.

The program is Sarah Marie’s project for her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement for Girl Scouts.

Her mother, Sarah Romanelli, said her daughter, Sarah Marie invested over 100 hours of her time making and directing of this program.

Sarah Marie had a number of mentors, Courtney Koehle, owner of To The Stage in Oceanside, Sandy Messina of The Nassau County Girl Scout Council in and Tony Iovino, community services supervisor at the Oceanside Library.

Sarah Marie plans to this show on the road and perform at the Ronald McDonald House in October.
