The first house, on Martin Avenue in Bellmore, was broken into sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. through a rear window, First Squad detectives reported. Assorted jewelry was stolen.

A home on Cameron Avenue in North Merrick was burglarized through a rear window between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Jewelry was taken.

A second Martin Avenue home was struck through a rear sliding-glass door between 2:30 and 5 p.m. Once again, jewelry was stolen.

Also, a resident of Northridge Avenue in North Merrick returned home and discovered that the rear screen door was removed and the sliding-glass door was off its track. The house, however, was not entered.
