Reinhard’s ‘rising stars’ learn the rules of the road, school

At an annual event featuring everything from student posters to teachers in costumes, Bellmore’s kindergarten, first- and second-grade students recently took part in the district’s character-education program at the Reinhard Rising Star Pep Rally.

On Oct. 2, staff members at the Charles A. Reinhard Early Childhood Center, which houses the Bellmore School District’s youngest students, hosted the rally. The morning program was designed to get children excited about school, learn the rules of the bus, reiterate the code of conduct and welcome kindergartners into the Rising Star program.

Faculty showed off their acting chops in a skit. Donned in costumes based on Disney's "Toy Story," teachers performed in a short play that illustrated the rules of the road and school.
