New York State Sen. Charles Fuschillo Jr. of Merrick recently visited Mepham High School in Bellmore to thank students for their continued support of his “Extend the Holidays” toy drive.

“Extend the Holidays” is an annual drive that Fuschillo organizes for the benefit of children in Winthrop Hospital’s Pediatric

Center. Mepham students once again collected new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages. The toys will be delivered to the hospital after New Year’s Day so that the children there can experience the joys of receiving a new toy after the holiday season and throughout the year.

“Year after year,” Fuschillo said, “Mepham’s students and staff continue to display their overwhelming generosity, helping provide children in the hospital with a bit of holiday cheer. I greatly appreciate their efforts and thank them for once again helping to put smiles on the faces of many children.”
