Swastikas, graffiti found at Martin Avenue Elementary

Swastikas and racial slurs were found scrawled on the walls of a North Bellmore elementary school last weekend, Nassau County Police said.

According to First Squad detectives, the outside walls of Martin Avenue Elementary School were vandalized sometime between Friday, Sept. 27 and Monday, Sept. 30. Police are now searching for the unknown people who were responsible for defacing the property, at 2616 Martin Ave. in North Bellmore.

The graffiti was made with paint marker in the form of two swastikas, police said, which were pink and about two feet by two feet. Officials added that more graffiti made with black marker was found. Messages included the letters “NWA” and “N,” in addition to a racial slur.
