The boys of Cub Scout Pack 157 in Merrick recently held their annual Blue and Gold Dinner, at which the scouts' bridge from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts was celebrated.

Scouts Matthew Goebel, Aaron Schlectman, Jakub Pienkowski, Caleb Haller and Jack Dieso obtained their Arrow of Light and joined Bou Scout Troop 157.

Scout Master Roderick Geoghegan, Cub Master Timothy O'Sullivan and Nassau County Legislature Presiding Officer Norma Gonsalves were on-hand to recognize the scouts.

“The Blue and Gold Dinner is a tremendous moment for these scouts and their families,” said Gonsalves. “This event recognizes the hard work and dedication the scouts have completed to reach the level of Boy Scout. I truly wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.”

The event was held at the Merrick Golf Clubhouse in North Merrick.
