Shootout Cancer, a non-profit organization which raises funds to assist those battling cancer, hosted its fifth annual basketball event on June 16 at Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst to raise money for families afflicted by the disease. Participants donated $10 and enjoyed basketball activities and competitions while spectators donated $5 to the cause. more

Amici Gourmet Deli on Rockaway Parkway hosted an Easter event for local school children on April 5. There was a visit from the Easter Bunny and popular children's character such as Blue from Blue's Clues. One of the highlights of the event was a raffle for a giant chocolate egg. more
