Murray: Lighthouse talks going ‘smoothly’
More than a month after Oct. 3 ‘deadline,’ Wang remains silent
the lighthouse project was a topic of fierce debate leading up to Charles Wang’s Oct. 3 “deadline,” but the Islanders owner has been quiet as of late.

This year’s election brought about a change in Nassau County government, but the status of the Lighthouse project remains static and unclear.

Ironically, Election Day fell exactly a month after Lighthouse developer Charles Wang’s deadline for “certainty,” Oct. 3. Wang, who owns the New York Islanders, asked the Town of Hempstead to give him an answer on his proposal by that date — which was also the team’s opening night. The town has authority over the developer’s zoning and environmental applications.
