Central Nassau won the Little League Williamsport District 32 championship for the Girls 9-10U softball division. District 32 represents the towns of Bayville, Bethpage, East Meadow, Hicksville, Jericho, Levittown, Plainview, Syosset and Westbury. more

E.M. U-10 little league team wins district title

The Mustangs, a U-10 little league baseball team, came together 12 days before the start of this year’s Williamsport tournament, the premiere little league tournament in East Meadow. The Mustangs, who had to fight their way out of the loser’s bracket of the tournament, were crowned the 2011 Williamsport District 32 champions. more

Merrick Madness wins state softball championship

Updated: Thursday, July 29, 2010, 11:29 p.m. Merrick’s 12-year-old Williamsport softball team, a.k.a. the "Merrick Madness," has won the New York State Softball Championship, defeating Garden City South 13-6 in Canastota, N.Y. on July 28, according to Bill Haddad, president of the Canastota Little League. more
