A Few Clouds An evening of music at the Tilles Center
Hundreds of student-musicians in the district entertained a large audience of friends, family, faculty and administrators at the East Meadow School District’s annual music festival at LIU Post’s Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Greenvale on March 11.
The program began with a performance by the All-District Elementary Band, which included students from Barnum Woods and McVey elementary schools, and was followed by another All-District Elementary Band performance of Bowling Green, Meadowbrook and Parkway elementary students. Both performances were directed by guest conductor Peggy Rakas.
The East Meadow High School Chamber Orchestra, directed by conductor Michael Cascardi, and the All-District Middle School Band and All-District High School Band, both directed by guest conductor Vincent Oppido, also delighted the audience.
