At East Meadow Modell's, travel squad gets new gear

Modell’s Sporting Goods donated 24 baseball bags to a local travel team, the Camelot Knights, at its East Meadow location last Friday, marking a partnership between the corporation and the team.

The Camelot Knights are an elite travel baseball organization of several teams of various ages. Knights players, in their full uniforms, were at the ceremony last week to accept the Easton bags.

One of the Knights’ coaches, Joe Palumbo, is an East Meadow resident and co-owns Camelot Specialty Limos, based in Farmingdale.

“Anytime you get to support an organization such as the Camelot Knights, who instill the right values in tomorrow’s future stars of the diamond, it is a tremendous opportunity,” said John Borrelli, the regional marketing supervisor of Modell’s Sporting Goods.
