'Bat Man' and his bats fly around East Meadow

Posted

While Halloween continues to creep closer and closer, East Meadow already received a spooky surprise visit from ‘Bat Man’ himself.

Equipped with a bat mobile of his own, Rob Miles, also known as ‘Bat Man,’ unleashed his winged creatures in the East Meadow Public Library. A TV personality, conservation biologist, bat expert and author, Miles is also the executive director of the Organization for Bat Conservation. Throughout the bat show, Miles provided fun facts as well as the importance of bat life conservation and what can be done to protect biodiversity, while introducing each bat to the crowd.

Camilla, a Malayan Flying Bat, stunned the crowd as Miles delicately spread her wings to showcase her large size. Among the bats were Big Brown bats and Jamaican Leaf-Nosed bats.
