Catch ‘Plaza Suite’ at Temple Emanu-El

Congregants to perform next two weekends

Posted

Beginning Saturday, Temple Emanu-El congregants will begin a two-weekend run of Neil Simon’s “Plaza Suite.”

Directed by Barry Block, the three-act comedy takes place in New York City’s Plaza Hotel. Elliott Solomon, the producer, described one act in which a young woman, experiencing cold feet on the eve of her wedding, locks herself in a bathroom. Hilarity ensues as family members try to persuade her to come out. “This play is very funny,” said Solomon. “It’s all in the process.”

The production will take place on Saturdays, Dec. 6 and 13, at 8 p.m. There will also be afternoon performances on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m.

The cost is $18 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $9 for children. Solomon said tickets can be reserved by calling the synagogue, on 123 Merrick Ave., at 794-811, or purchased before each show.

All proceeds from the performances go back to the synagogue.
