Divas take over Eisenhower Park

Eisenhower Park was overcome with the color pink last Sunday, as thousands of women arrived in East Meadow to participate in the annual Divas Half Marathon and 5K Series.

The run takes place in locations across the country — and Puerto Rico — throughout the fall, and according to its official website, “is the most fun and glam women’s half marathon series in the nation.”

Each race also comprises a health and fitness boutique, diva lounge and post-race party.

Melissa Moschetto, of Long Beach, won the half marathon for the second straight year, finishing in 1 hour and 23 minutes. Gina-Marie Ferraro, of Syosset, was the first to cross the finish line in the 5K, at 19 minutes and 6 seconds.
