Father’s Day Bowl draws record attendance

Barnum Woods PTA event is all about the dads

The Barnum Woods Parent Teacher Association hosted its most successful Father’s Day bowling night yet, on June 19, with more than 300 residents packing AMF Lanes, on East Meadow Avenue, for some quality bonding time between father and child.

The event, now in its fifth year, was a night of multiple generations. Some brought their young children. Others were accompanied by their grandfathers. Whatever the relation, it was a fun-filled night of bowling, from 7 to 9 p.m., along with dinner and drinks, and raffles for the opportunity to win 18 gift cards.

“I love being part of such a terrific event each year, and having the attendance keep growing,” said Todd Weinstein, the PTA event coordinator, who credited the AMF staff for accommodating the large number of participants for the fifth straight year. “Watching the kids have so much fun bowling with their family and friends makes all of the hard work in planning so worth it.”

Indeed, Weinstein, who spent the evening with his two sons, Evan and Alex, said residents have already approached him to express their excitement for next year’s Father’s Day Bowl.
