Kids have a ball at free throw contest

Dozens of kids, between the ages of 10 and 14, arrived at the gymnasium in side St. Raphael’s Parish in East Meadow for the East Meadow Knights of Columbus Pope Pius XII Council’s annual free throw competition.

The East Meadow Knights of Columbus Pope Pius XII Council recently held its annual free throw contest inside the gymnasium at St. Raphael’s Parish.

The free throw contest was open to boys and girls between the ages of 10 to 14, and dozens showed up take part in the festivities and show off their sharpshooting skills.

Certificates were distributed to all participants, and the winners of each age group moved on to the district free throw tournament, where they will compete for a chance to advance to the county, regional and state levels.

The Council champions on the day were Kerry Clark, 10, Samantha Fasano,13, Dan Amari, 13, Timothy Daly, 10, Anthony Sheck, 11.
