Long Island Rail Road trains were operating "on or close" to schedule by midday on Wednesday after a non-commuter train derailed near the Jamaica station around 4 a.m., according the LIRR's website.

Nearly all lines, except Port Washington, were suspended after the derailment. By 8 a.m., the LIRR was reporting limited westbound train service on nearly all lines.

LIRR riders experienced delays of up to an hour because of the incident.
