Man robs W.H. 7-Eleven in Halloween mask

An armed man wearing a Halloween mask and latex gloves robbed a West Hempstead 7-Eleven Sunday night after he tied up one of the employees and demanded that a second open the register.

The robbery occurred at 7:51 p.m. at the 7-Eleven location located at 383 Hempstead Turnpike. There were four employees in the store at the time.

The gunman was described as six feet tall, medium build, wearing dark-colored clothing, blue jeans, a white, hard Halloween mask and blue latex gloves. He fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash and a carton of cigarettes. No injuries were reported.

West Hempstead has two 7-Eleven stores, with a third opening this week at the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Westminster Road.
