Veterans Day offers a time for residents to appreciate those who have served in our country’s Armed Forces. Last week, communities across the country held ceremonies in honor of local veterans, and Nassau County was no exception.

Hundreds of Nassau County veterans arrived in Eisenhower Park on Sunday for the United Veterans Organization of Nassau County Veterans Day Ceremony.

The UVONC represents all veteran organizations in the county in a united effort to ensure that the veterans issues are being addressed.

The ceremony was held at Veterans Memorial Plaza in Field 6, which comprises monuments dedicated to different American wars. Veterans from different eras of military history were honored in spectacular fashion.
