An East Meadow man was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with menacing after he allegedly pointed a rifle at a bartender, police say.

According to Nassau County Police, William Karas, 56, was involved in an altercation at Paddock Pub on East Meadow Avenue, and was removed from the bar.

Karas allegedly returned to the bar shortly before midnight, and pointed a loaded rifle at the 48-year-old male bartender.

Police say that the patrons inside of the bar were able to grab the rifle from Karas and call police. No injuries were reported.

A phone call to Paddock Pub to discuss the incident was not answered.

Karas was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned on Oct. 17 in First District Court in Hempstead.
