A Central Islip woman who worked as a bank teller in East Meadow was arrested on Jan. 9 for stealing money from a customer, police allege.

Nassau County police say Tiffany Harper, 34, while employed at JP Morgan Chase Bank last August, on 2469 Hempstead Turnpike, processed a withdrawal for a customer for $1,200. After the withdrawal took place, police said she altered the withdrawal slip to indicate $4,200, and kept the difference — $3,000 — for herself.

Harper is charged with second degree possession of a forged instrument and fourth degree grand larceny. She was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Jan. 9.
