Last Saturday at AMF Lanes in East Meadow marked the 20th Annual Nassau County Bowling For Wishes fundraiser to benefit the Marty Lyons Foundation, a charity started by former New York Jet Marty Lyons in 1982 that that fulfills the wishes of children between 3 and 17 who have been diagnosed with a terminal or life threatening illness.

The event was formerly held at Massapequa Bowl, but relocated to East Meadow a few years ago. It raises thousands annually, and this year, all 48 lanes on Saturday night in the alley were devoted to the charity, said AMF general manager Andrew Ghirardi.

The foundation has 10 Chapters granting wishes in 13 states – Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
