A former employee of Kia Auto World in East Meadow is facing charges for allegedly stealing $20,000 in profits from the company, according to police.

Jose Quiroz, 31, of Roosevelt, was employed as a financial representative at Kia Auto World when he siphoned money from the down payments on multiple customers’ vehicles, police said. Starting November 2017, the company reported to have lost $20,000.

Quiroz was arrested without incident on May 1 in East Meadow. He faces grand and petit larceny charges among falsifying business records and scheming to defraud. He is being represented by the Legal Aid Society, which does not comment on active cases.

Quiroz next appearance in Nassau County First District Court is May 22. Police ask that anyone who feels they may have been a victim to the above crimes should contact the First Squad at 573-6154. All callers will remain anonymous.
