Hospitalized East Meadow man arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, police say

An East Meadow man was being treated at Nassau University Medical Center when police found him to be in possession of a firearm and arrested him, officials said.

Pouchino Alexandre, 17, of East Meadow, had suffered a “medical episode” when police escorted him to NUMC. While interviewing him, they found that he had unlawfully been carrying a loaded, defaced handgun.

Alexandre is facing four counts of criminal possession charges and will be arraigned when medically practical, according to police.
