Muslim society donates $15k to hunger relief

The Long Island Muslim Society recently donated $15,000 to the Island Harvest Food Bank, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, to support its food distribution programs in serving more than 300,000 Long Islanders who face hunger every day.

The Long Island Muslim Society, located on 475 East Meadow Avenue in East Meadow, said the donation will mark the beginning of a yearlong partnership with Island Harvest.

“We are exceptionally grateful for the generosity and warmth of the Long Island Muslim Society, its leadership and members in joining Island Harvest in the fight against hunger on Long Island,” said Island Harvest President and East Meadow resident Randi Shubin Dresner. “It’s through partnerships such as these that have a meaningful impact in solving some of our most pressing societal issues, including hunger.”
