Thrilled to represent the East Meadow community

Posted

Hello East Meadow residents! I’m Brian Stieglitz and I’ve recently been promoted as Editor of the East Meadow Herald.

I was born and raised in Seaford and attended Seaford High School. I graduated from Hofstra University in 2016 with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Creative Writing and a minor in film. In December, I graduated with my Master’s degree in Journalism at the same school.

I have always dedicated my life to writing, both fiction and non-fiction. I specialize in human interest and music reporting, but have covered an array of topics here at the Herald.

For the past year I’ve had the honor of reporting for the Bellmore and Merrick Heralds, your neighbors, and before that I wrote for the Wantagh and Seaford Heralds, my neighbors and friends. If this trend continues, soon I’ll keeping moving northwest until I’m eventually editor of the fictional Alaska Herald.

Joking aside, becoming a part of the Bellmore-Merrick community and the Long Island Herald team has enriched my life as both a Long Island resident and journalist. I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing people and report on their incredible, heartbreaking and motivating stories. I have already begun to meet some members of the East Meadow community and look forward to conversing with as many of you as I can.
