Mail your letters to Santa at Eisenhower Park

Posted

Nassau County children will once again be able to send their holiday lists directly to “Old St. Nick at the North Pole” through a special network of Santa's Mailboxes at Nassau County Parks from Nov. 30 to Dec. 18.

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran recently made the announcement and said she was ““happy to be able to provide a sense of normalcy and some holiday cheer for Nassau's little ones who may have struggled to adapt to the many changes and challenges of this past year.”

"Continuing to enhance our parks and expand their fun and unique seasonal programs is key to making Nassau a better place for people to live, work and play,” she continued.

All children who participate will receive a reply in the form of a "Santa-Gram,” with Santa's elves at the Parks Department pitching in to send cheery but noncommittal letters in response to children's letters. To assure a reply, each letter must contain the child's name and address, written legibly. There is no postage necessary and the "Santa-Grams" will be sent before the holiday.

Colorful red and green mailboxes will be accessible from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily just outside of the administration building of Eisenhower Park's Aquatic Center on Merrick Avenue in East Meadow. The letters can also be dropped off at the Eisenhower Park main administration building on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Residents can also email Santa at: santaclaus@nassaucountyny.gov. Residents should be sure to include their name and full mailing address on all letters and emails. For more information, visit www.nassaucountyny.gov/parks.
