Updated: 12:45 p.m. Friday: As predicted, a powerful winter storm rolled into the greater metropolitan area after midnight on Thursday morning, bringing with it snow, frigid temperatures and heavy winds.

On Friday morning, Mayor Edward Lieberman said the roads in the village were "clean and in order."

"Everything looks good, people are traversing the roads, and the situation is a-okay," Lieberman said. He added that Sea Cliff received at least 10 to 11 inches of snow.

All North Shore Schools were closed for Friday, Jan 5.

The National Weather Service issued a Blizzard Warning and a Coastal Flood Advisory for Nassau County Thursday morning.

Lieberman reported on Thursday that high tides caused large waves to flood Shore Road in Sea Cliff, while wind gusts and flooding caused debris to wash up on Laurel Avenue.

"The debris and flooding on Shore Road is all cleaned up," Lieberman said.

According to the NWS, the temperature dropped as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit, and as low as -5 degrees, with the wind chill factored in. Winds gusts clocked in as high as 40 miles per hour.
