Police: Uniondale man arrested in connection to two overdoses, one fatal

Police arrested a Uniondale man on July 4 in connection to the overdoses of two men near Eisenhower Park the previous night.

Two men were found unresponsive in East Meadow on July 3 at 10:50 p.m., according to detectives with the Nassau County Narcotic Vice Squad. The men were transported to a local hospital, where one was treated and the other was pronounced dead by hospital personnel.

An investigation by detectives and the Long Island Heroin Task Force led police to arrest Kenneth Parris, 46, of Uniondale. On searching his home, police allegedly found a large quantity of heroin and other drug paraphernalia.

He is being charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was arraigned on July 8 at the Town of Hempstead First District Court.
