East Meadow Pride Day

Family fun, free food, games and entertainment at the 27th Annual East Meadow Community Pride Day. Enjoy a health fair, sports events, fire safety tours, bicycle anti-theft tips, games for kids, demonstrations, giant slide, refreshments, kiddie maze, face painting, live music, and much more. Sponsored and organized by the East Meadow Kiwanis Club together with the town’s Chamber of Commerce, this event is supported by over 50 businesses and local organizations. Come to Senator Speno Memorial Park, 745 East Meadow Ave., from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Free bus shuttle from Veterans Memorial Park (corner of Prospect Ave. and East Meadow Ave.) 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Barnum Woods health walk for Flag Day

In its fourth year, the "Walk in the Woods" at Barnum Woods Elementary School will be celebrating national pride on Flag Day through health and community service. It will begin with a Flag Day ceremony at 9:30 am in front of the school, with a "Health Walk" for the students to make strides towards greater wellness. Students will also be presenting a check from their Wolds Finest Chocolate sale to Head Custodian Onix Ruix. The proceeds will go toward his childhood elementary school in Ponce, Puerto Rico, which sustained severe damage after Hurricane Maria. The rain date for this event is June 15th.

Long Island’s First LitCon

The first romance and beach read convention will be hosted by the East Meadow Public Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be panels, meet-and-greets and 25 authors from across different genres who will be greeting fans, speaking about their work and sharing tips to fellow writers. Come meet your favorite writers, get to know new ones and join in on the experience.
