Nasrin Ahmad, a Republican, began working as a file clerk in the Town of Hempstead Clerk’s office in 1998, before rising to the position of town clerk in September 2013, appointed after Mark Bonilla abruptly left office. We liked both candidates for Town of Hempstead clerk –– Republican Nasrin Ahmad, of Salisbury, and Democrat Jasmine Garcia-Vieux, of Levittown. But we believe Ahmad is better qualified. more
